Africa-France, "Africa Forward Summit"
Africa Forward Summit 2026 will take place on May 11–12, 2026, in Nairobi, as a joint initiative by France and Kenya led by Presidents Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto. Conceived as a high-level strategic gathering, the summit aims to launch a new phase of cooperation between Africa and France, more ambitious, innovative, and action-oriented. It also marks a significant milestone in Africa–France relations, nearly a decade after the Ouagadougou speech, and is the first summit of its kind co-hosted with an Anglophone country.
Bringing together Heads of State and Government, international institutions, business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, youth representatives, and civil society, the summit will focus on turning shared priorities into concrete outcomes and long-term partnerships. Key discussions will address sustainable finance and global financial reform, energy transition and green industrialisation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, as well as food security, health, and strategic infrastructure. The event will open with a Business Forum highlighting investment opportunities and successful Africa–France collaborations.
Africa Forward 2026 aims to drive innovation, strengthen partnerships, and support sustainable and inclusive growth. More than a dialogue platform, it will foster momentum for concrete solutions to shared challenges, from economic development to global governance. It also builds on previous global milestones, contributing to ongoing international efforts and shaping discussions ahead of the G7 Summit in June 2026.
