Dear Forus members,

Join us at the next meeting of the Forus Financing for Development working group, which will take place on Wednesday, 23 August from 13:00 to 14:30 UTC. In this meeting, members will discuss Forus’ plans at the upcoming Finance in Common Summit (FiCS), to take place on 4-6 September in Cartagena, Colombia. 

Public Development Banks (PDBs) will come together in Cartagena this year to strengthen their partnership and reinforce their commitments in support of common actions for climate change and sustainable development. The key themes of the 2023 FICS are SMEs; Climate and Biodiversity; Sustainable Infrastructure, and PDBs' Institutional Agenda.

Forus has been working with a CSO coalition on FICS over the past three years to call on PDBs to transform their financing models and adopt more transparent and inclusive consultative processes at all stages of their decision-making towards the reduction of climate and environment damage, debt burden, and inequalities. Forus leads on global CSO coordination in FICS, focusing on joint advocacy related to Climate, Biodiversity, Sustainable Development; Human Rights; Financing for Development; and, Civic Space.
