South Africa will host the 2025 G20 Leaders' Summit in Johannesburg from 22–23 November 2025, marking the first-ever G20 summit held on the African continent. 

Under the theme "Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability," the summit will focus on building global partnerships to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and ensure that no one is left behind.

This will be the 20th meeting of the Group of Twenty (G20) — bringing together heads of state and government to address pressing global challenges amid ongoing polycrises.

Key priorities of South Africa’s G20 Presidency include:

• Inclusive economic growth, industrialisation, employment, and reducing inequality

• Food security and sustainable agriculture

• Artificial intelligence and innovation for sustainable development
