📅 SDG Action Weekend

When: September 16-17 2023

Civil society, the private sector, youth, women, scientists, local and regional governments and other stakeholders all have a key role in the implementation of the SDGs. Their participation, contributions and catalytic mobilization will be essential to the success of the SDG Summit and its follow-up.

To generate additional opportunities for the engagement of all actors, the United Nations is convening an SDG Action Weekend on 16-17 September 2023 which will consist of 1. The SDG Mobilization Day on Saturday 16 September for stakeholders from all sectors to convene inside the United Nations Headquarters and mobilize towards an ambitious SDG Summit and UN General Assembly High-Level Week, and 2. The SDG Acceleration Day on Sunday 17 September, that will be centered around the UN High-Impact Initiatives. Both events will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

How to register for the SDG Action Weekend?

•   If you are an ECOSOC-accredited organization please register through Indico here: https://indico.un.org/event/1006879/ by Friday 8 September. You can register up to 10 persons under your organization. 
•   If you are an academic or an individual of a small organization, you can write to the NGO Major Group at [email protected]. Your email should be titled "Non ECOSOC-accredited". In the email please add the name, organization, and if the participant has a visa. The NGO Major Group can only consider 2 persons of the same organization in this modality.
