Seventy-ninth World Health Assembly

 

The World Health Assembly is the main decision-making body of the World Health Organisation (WHO). It brings together delegations from all Member States to address a global health agenda prepared by the Executive Board.

 

Its main functions include:

  • Setting the Organisation’s policies
  • Appointing the Director-General
  • Overseeing financial policies
  • Reviewing and approving the programme budget

The Assembly is held annually in Geneva, Switzerland, and is considered one of the most important global public health events.
