The multiplying impacts of the climate emergency, the rise of populist governments fueling polarization, highly mediatized wars such as in Gaza or the invasion of Ukraine, and the countless other conflicts, crises and atrocities that go largely unnoticed, have further exhausted those who are acting on the frontlines, and often eroded trust in political power and even in the global multilateral system.
