Madagascar
Since 2015, I have been dedicated to promoting digitalisation within my community through training sessions and workshops at the Youth Centre in Farafangana, in the south-eastern region of Madagascar, as well as with various NGOs. I have used my personal Facebook account to raise awareness, organise youth meetings, and host programmes on local radio stations, because I believe in the power of digital technology to transform society for the benefit of all. I have organised educational sessions to explain how to use digital tools, raised awareness of online risks such as the consequences of misinformation and disinformation, and above all, shared knowledge. I have explained to young people that navigating the digital world can contribute to their success, as technology is a powerful tool for youth empowerment. It enables them to express their voices and actively participate in dialogue — particularly important in a developing country such as ours. I bring over five years of experience in conducting and supervising surveys with major international and national NGOs in Madagascar. I have also worked as a social worker in child protection, a community facilitator and mobiliser, and an advocate for gender sensitivity and inclusion, especially in the fight against gender-based violence (GBV). In addition, I am a trainer in personal development, advocacy, and public speaking. I am a young woman leader, head of a youth association since 2015, a member of the regional civil society platform ATSIMO ATSINANANA Askagny, a member of ORDH Atsimo Atsinanana, and a former Secretary General of the Farafangana Municipal Youth Council.
I have always had a strong interest in conflict management, mediation, and working with youth groups, communities, and digitalisation. My extensive experience in conducting surveys and implementing humanitarian aid projects — such as Digital Inclusion, Resilience Building, and the Food for Education programme with several national organisations — has further strengthened my motivation to explore solutions and to advocate for the digital future of my country. I also have experience as a youth mentor and in community mobilisation and group facilitation, gained through collaboration with development projects in the region, such as the GIZ Madagascar Food Security, Nutrition and Resilience Building project and the CRS Madagascar Food for Education project. To me, this programme is an invaluable opportunity, offering the chance to amplify the voices of young people in Madagascar on such an important theme that directly affects their future.
