Finance in Common Summit 2025 - Sign the Civil Society Joint Declaration
The Forus network, together with a coalition of over 50 civil society organisations, is launching a joint declaration during the Finance in Common Summit 2025 (26–28 February 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa). Together, we have developed a number of recommendations for public development banks focusing on:
- Strengthening Civic Space & PDB-CSO Engagement
- Upholding Human Rights & Community-Led Development
- Development Finance: A Call for Fundamental Reform
- Climate Finance: A Call for Just Transition
We invite you to sign the Civil Society Declaration and to share it with your own networks and members!
Forus members and civil society organisations at the forefront of the Finance in Common Summit 2025
Since 2020, Forus members along with several other civil society organisations part of the Informal CSO Mechanism on FiCS (CSOs@FiCS) have been playing an active role in the Finance in Common summit (FICs), bringing a critical, community-focused perspective to the table. By emphasizing human rights, transparency, and equity, civil society organisations are using the FICs process to influence the policies and practices of PDBs to ensure that people and planet take precedence over profit.
Financing for Development

How do we shape a different economic paradigm which respects people and planet?
