Internet Governance Forum 2026

Internet Governance Forum 2026 | Forus

The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2026 will hold its 21st annual meeting from 14 to 18 December 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya.

Convened under the auspices of the United Nations, the forum is expected to bring together more than 9,000 participants from over 165 countries, with over 250 sessions planned throughout the five-day event. The IGF serves as a global multistakeholder platform where governments, the private sector, civil society, and the technical community discuss public policy issues related to the internet.

Preparatory activities for the meeting are already underway, including an open call for thematic inputs that invited stakeholders worldwide to identify key priorities and challenges in internet governance. These contributions will help shape the overall theme, subthemes, programme structure, and intersessional work, including Policy Networks and Best Practice Forums.

Additional details on the programme and participation will be released in the coming months. Updates can be followed through the official IGF website.
