Speakers:
Mika Välitalo, Fingo (Finland): Mika works for the 300 member organisations of Fingo, concentrating on digital development, innovation and corporate partnerships. He will talk about some of the initiatives of the Fingo Powerbank which supports development NGOs in three areas: innovations, technology solutions and private sector collaboration. Chris Katsaura, NANGO (Zimbabwe): Chris serves as the Communication and Visibility Officer at the National Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (NANGO). He is deeply committed to the cause of enhancing the reach and influence of Civil Society Organisations through effective communication strategies and advocates for the formulation of policies that effectively address the challenges associated with the shrinking of civic space, both in the digital realm and offline. He will talk about how civil society organizations can effectively combat disinformation and misinformation about their work online, while also safeguarding free speech and open dialogue.
- In what ways can civil society organizations engage in public education and awareness campaigns to proactively address and counteract disinformation and misinformation that may undermine the public's trust in their work, and how can they measure the impact of these efforts?
Adrien Radovic, What the Web (Global): Adrien is the co-founder of What The Web, a digital solidarity association dedicated to support civil society organisations. What The Web enables any NGO to create or redesign a website that is easy to manage on a day-to-day basis, while offering digital training programmes free of costs to support civil society to manage and update their website independently. He will share some best practices for NGOs when it comes to creating a website.
