As we plan ahead for the UN’s High Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2022, the significance of the UN regional review processes is often overlooked or underestimated by civil society. While many CSOs now actively engage with the Voluntary National Review (VNR) processes at the national level, they may not be aware of the Regional Sustainable Development Forums taking place in March-April.
This webinar, jointly organised by Action for Sustainable Development and Forus, aims to share information about recent developments at the regional level. Participants will learn more about the civil society engagement mechanisms at regional level and will hear from UN officials working with the Regional Sustainable Development Forums.
The specific objectives of this webinar are as follows:
- To update participants on the role and functioning of the Regional Civil Society Engagement Mechanisms and their achievements in recent years
- To help participants to gain a better understanding of the role of the UN Regional Sustainable Development Forums in identifying regional level needs and interests
- To promote a greater understanding of the way in which the outcomes of the UN Regional Sustainable Development Forums feed into the HLPF each year
- To help participants to identify how best to take advantage of the advocacy, capacity development, networking and other opportunities linked to SDG implementation at the regional level
