Capacity Building for CEPS commissions for Effective Social Program Delivery

The aim is to enhance the operational and human capacity of CEPS Commissions to effectively deliver social programs and better represent and serve the interest of vulnerable groups. Many NGOs that are targeting vulnerable groups are themselves in a state of vulnerability to failure in accurately addressing the needs of the community, as they lack the proper project management skills and resources to maximize the use of donor funds to make any meaningful impact within their area of intervention. Numerous studies and workshops in Seychelles have confirmed this fact and is especially highlighted in a study done by the Civil society Platform under the 9th European Development Fund. The need for commissions of the National civil Society Platform to work together to effectively intervene in social projects and better represent and serve the interest of vulnerable groups such as the disabled, women, youths, drug abusers, sex workers, etc.… has become a vital developmental need. This is in the light that social issues are becoming increasingly more complex and diverse. In line with CEPS strategic goals number 5 which is Capacity Building CEPS want to build the capacity of its members by developing an integrated approach to seriously tackle the challenges at hand.
