The event is organized by the Global Task Force of Local and Regional Governments (GTF), DESA, UN-Habitat, UNDP and the Local2030 Coalition under the overarching theme “A networked multilateralism for present and future generations: Local governments at the heart of the countdown to 2030”. It will place a special focus on the five SDGs under review in the 2025 HLPF: SDG 3 (Health), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships)—highlighting their relevance to local and regional governments and centrality in accelerating the 2030 Agenda.
