ADA: Enhancing CSOs understanding of development financing and engagement with public development banks
The Asia Development Alliance (ADA) stands as a pioneering regional network, empowering civil society and driving social change. With 31 national Civil Society Organization (CSO) platforms under its umbrella, representing over 10,000 organizations across South, South East, North East, and Central Asia, ADA is a formidable force for advocacy and collaboration.
Selected as a partner for the Financing for Sustainable Development (FfSD) Forus project on “Strengthening the dialogue between civil society and public development banks (PDBs)”, ADA played a significant role in enhancing CSOs' understanding of development financing and facilitating their engagement with PDBs to shape policies and operations, they organized various meetings on this topics throughout the whole project. ADA’s has taken part in a wide range of international meetings, both as a convenor and participant such as the Finance in Common Summit (2022-2023); U.N High-Level Political Forum of the SDGs (2021-2023); the New Global Financial Pact Summit (2023); the Civil20 (2023); and, Civil BRICS (2023).
Notably, ADA's engagement with the Asia Development Bank resulted in the bank committing to provide technical assistance to bolster CSO capacity in the region. ADA's initiatives also include an International Financial Institution mapping of the Asia region, offering a comprehensive overview of development projects and their impacts.
