UN High-Level Political Forum July 17
Engagement du réseau Forus lors du Forum politique de haut niveau des Nations Unies 2025 - #HLPF2025. Lors du #FPHN2025 à New York, le 17 juillet, Forus et ses membres ont participé à trois événements parallèles majeurs, mettant en avant le rôle moteur de la société civile dans la promotion des objectifs de développement durable (ODD). 🌍 🔍 Lancement du rapport : Libérer le potentiel de la localisation et des partenariats multipartites pour sauver les ODD Forus a dévoilé son dernier rapport mondial, intitulé « Libérer le potentiel de la localisation et des partenariats multipartites pour sauver les ODD », qui présente plus de 20 études de cas sur les cinq continents. 🗣️ Dialogue : « Personne n'est laissé pour compte ? » Événement conjoint de la société civile, co-organisé par Together2030, Local2030, TAP Network, Sightsavers, Save the children et d'autres, sur le thème « Personne n'est laissé pour compte ? Réévaluer les engagements mondiaux en période de pénurie », a réuni des intervenants confrontés aux réalités du rétrécissement des environnements favorables et des crises financières. 🤝 Renforcer la solidarité à la Fondation Ford Discussion stratégique organisée par Forus, CIVICUS, TAP Network et d'autres, les acteurs de la société civile se sont réunis pour contrer les discours nuisibles et explorer les moyens de protéger l'espace civique. Forus a également partagé les conclusions de son initiative EU SEE, qui surveille les environnements favorables à la société civile dans 86 pays.

UN High-Level Political Forum July 16
Forus network's engagement at the UN High-Level Political Forum 2025 - #HLPF2025. At the #HLPF2025 in New York, on July 16 Forus and its members took part in three key side events, showcasing the leadership of civil society in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 🌍 📍 Local2030 Coalition Side Event Dr. Moses Isooba, Executive Director of the Uganda National NGO Forum and Forus Vice-Chair, emphasized the power of local action and civil society in unlocking sustainable financing. He called for flexible, community-led development and highlighted that “65% of the SDGs depend on localisation.” 📍 Side Event on SDG Target 8.7: Achieving a Child Labour-Free World With 138 million children still in child labour—over half in sub-Saharan Africa—this session brought together global actors to drive urgent solutions. Co-organized by Forus member JANIC, along with ACE and partners, the event renewed the push to eliminate child labour by 2025. 📍 Side Event by the Government of Uganda & UN Economic Commission for Africa Dr. Isooba also spoke at this event, stressing that civil society is not only a service provider but a key contributor to policymaking and decision-making. He urged international institutions like the UN, OECD, and Bretton Woods bodies to meet financing commitments and support sustainable development globally.

Civil society Declaration - 3rd SDG16 Plus Forum AsiaGlobal trends and forces continue to work against peaceful, just and inclusive societies, with political will from governments fading and exclusion on the rise. The third SDG16+ Forum provided an opportunity for CSOs along with other stakeholders to come together to identify areas where amplified actions are needed on SDG16+.
