Participação da rede Forus no Fórum Político de Alto Nível da ONU 2025 - #HLPF2025. No #HLPF2025 em Nova Iorque, a 17 de julho, a Forus e os seus membros participaram em três eventos paralelos importantes, demonstrando a liderança da sociedade civil na promoção dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS). 🌍 🔍 Lançamento do relatório: Liberando o poder da localização e das parcerias entre múltiplas partes interessadas para resgatar os ODS A Forus divulgou seu último relatório global, “Liberando o poder da localização e das parcerias entre múltiplas partes interessadas para resgatar os ODS”, apresentando mais de 20 estudos de caso em cinco continentes. 🗣️ Diálogo: “Ninguém fica para trás?” Evento conjunto da sociedade civil, coorganizado pela Together2030, Local2030, TAP Network, Sightsavers, Save the Children e outros, com o tema “Ninguém fica para trás? Reavaliando os compromissos globais em tempos de escassez”, reuniu palestrantes que abordaram as realidades iniciais da redução dos ambientes propícios, bem como as crises financeiras. 🤝 Construindo solidariedade na Fundação Ford Discussão estratégica organizada pela Forus, CIVICUS, TAP Network e outros, atores da sociedade civil se reuniram para combater narrativas prejudiciais e explorar como proteger o espaço cívico. A Forus também compartilhou insights de sua iniciativa EU SEE, que monitora ambientes propícios para a sociedade civil em 86 países.

UN High-Level Political Forum July 16
Forus network's engagement at the UN High-Level Political Forum 2025 - #HLPF2025. At the #HLPF2025 in New York, on July 16 Forus and its members took part in three key side events, showcasing the leadership of civil society in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 🌍 📍 Local2030 Coalition Side Event Dr. Moses Isooba, Executive Director of the Uganda National NGO Forum and Forus Vice-Chair, emphasized the power of local action and civil society in unlocking sustainable financing. He called for flexible, community-led development and highlighted that “65% of the SDGs depend on localisation.” 📍 Side Event on SDG Target 8.7: Achieving a Child Labour-Free World With 138 million children still in child labour—over half in sub-Saharan Africa—this session brought together global actors to drive urgent solutions. Co-organized by Forus member JANIC, along with ACE and partners, the event renewed the push to eliminate child labour by 2025. 📍 Side Event by the Government of Uganda & UN Economic Commission for Africa Dr. Isooba also spoke at this event, stressing that civil society is not only a service provider but a key contributor to policymaking and decision-making. He urged international institutions like the UN, OECD, and Bretton Woods bodies to meet financing commitments and support sustainable development globally.

Civil society Declaration - 3rd SDG16 Plus Forum AsiaGlobal trends and forces continue to work against peaceful, just and inclusive societies, with political will from governments fading and exclusion on the rise. The third SDG16+ Forum provided an opportunity for CSOs along with other stakeholders to come together to identify areas where amplified actions are needed on SDG16+.
