Key recommendations to ‘UNmute’ civil society were launched a year ago and momentum has grown throughout the year in a series of events at UN forums; these recommendations consider ways to strengthen participation at the UN online and also in person, including potential hybrid formats and have now been submitted for consideration to the UN Secretary General. A key point for consideration is how to ensure digital space is equitable, rights-based and accessible to all.

During this event, representatives from the UN, CIVICUS, the governments of Denmark and Costa Rica, ActionAid International, Reaccion Climatica, Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement, GCAP and the Sierra Leone CSO coalition will reflect on what has been done and suggest practical steps for improvement.
