Learning Modules

Laying the foundation for resilience of platforms of civil society organisations in a context of reduced funding and new technologies.

Overview

  • In the context of reduced funding for civil society organisations and increasingly complex, shifting environments, it has become imperative for all forms of civil society to invest in more agile organisational systems. In response, Forus members work hard to strengthen the capacities of their member organisations and teams—whether staff or volunteers—to effectively address the key challenges and changes they face.

  • The purpose of the Forus Learning Modules is to respond to this threat and reality by providing a semi-structured series of spaces for learning through practical and participatory methods tailored to the cultural and linguistic diversity of the network, emphasizing inclusivity, sustainability, and replicability.

Forus 2025 Learning Modules

Current priorities

Forus 2025 Learning Modules are focusing on two priority topics or domains that Forus members prioritised in the 2024 Membership Survey and Organisational Self-Assessment: digital technologies and resources mobilization – fundraising. Every year, the topics will change or be adapted based on the results of the Forus Organisational Self-Assessment.

Forus Learning Pack 2025

Practical Learning Modules for Resilient, Influential Civil Society

This page presents key information from the Forus Capacity Development Courses delivered between August and October 2025, and grouped under the following thematic focus areas: Resource Mobilisation, Public Speaking, Digital Security, and AI for NGO Management, all developed in response to members’ priorities. Designed for national platforms, CSOs, NGO executives and emerging leaders, the modules support organizations navigating shrinking enabling environments, funding pressures, digital risks and growing advocacy demands.

The courses were offered free of charge to Forus members, with sessions held in English, French and Spanish, and adapted to different regional contexts. Learning was structured, participatory, and led by INNOVUS Consulting alongside leading experts, combining interactive sessions with practical materials designed for replication within members’ organisations.

Participants who completed all modules have access to coaching opportunities, and the possibility to become certified trainers in their chosen topic.
