Anchored in Forus’ #MarchWithUs 2026 campaign and drawing on lived experiences and EU SEE early-warning alerts, speakers show how legal restrictions, anti-gender narratives, digital attacks, funding constraints, and reduced state responsiveness silence women-led and youth-led organizing. Concrete cases illustrate these trends—from anti-gender education policies to barriers to women’s public participation and safety—and innovative strategies activists use to stay safe and effective: cross-regional solidarity, digital security, and evidence-based advocacy. Through Forus membership examples across globe participants gain practical strategies for protection and organizing and actionable recommendations for governments, donors, and UN actors.
