Support for the structuring, consultation and strengthening of the capacity to influence public policies of the thematic groups of the SPONG.
This is a project to support the structuring, consultation and capacity building to influence public policies in the eight thematic groups of the SPONG.
The idea is to strengthen governance and communication within these spaces for dialogue with a view to enabling them to participate in the monitoring/control of public policies and to share successful experiences between the pairs.
The idea is based on the principle that the thematic groups:
-
Environment - Food Security;
-
(Water Hygiene and Sanitation;
-
Social Protection;
-
Gender and Development;
-
Health – Vaccination;
-
Education, Technical Vocational Training and Youth Employment;
-
Social Solidarity Economy;
-
Governance and Decentralization do not have sufficient governance tools and capacities to play their role as a force for proposals and citizen monitoring, hence the need to better organize and train them in this respect, while strengthening horizontal communication and consultation between pairs and vertically with the platform's coordination unit.
However, for the present call, only two thematic groups will be considered for the volume of the grant, which cannot cover the total need for funding. Moreover, the tools developed may subsequently allow a scaling up to the other six (6) thematic groups. These will then be the groups: Environment - Food Security, and Gender and Development. The two thematic focus groups will be the Food Security Group and the Decentralization and Local Development Group. The latter replaces the gender group in view of the obvious interest of the members to see this group structured in the face of the challenge of the current context.
