Peru is living in a context in which the authoritarian forces are advancing in their attempt to take over all the powers of the State, and civil society organisations, in this case the NGOs, IPREDAS and ENIEX are perceived as elements of contestation that resist the onslaught of the authoritarian project, which is why 6 bills have been presented in Congress that seek to limit and control their actions.

In response to these actions, ANC, fulfilling its institutional objectives, has been developing a series of activities to resist and confront this authoritarian onslaught.

As a first action and in association with the NGO Japiqay, a partner of the ANC, a working document has been prepared on these bills presented in Congress, which has allowed our members to learn the details and implications of these bills in a didactic way. You can download the document here.

As a second action, on the 9th of May, the ANC organised a discussion on ‘ACTIONS AGAINST THE AUTHORITARIAN BILL AGAINST NGOs, IPREDAS and ENIEX’ in which the document prepared together with Japiqay was presented and at the same time a proposal for articulation actions was presented, thus initiating a process of exchange with the aim of establishing strategies agreed upon by the members and other networks and platforms. 

In the coming days the ANC will continue to promote joint actions in order to stop this attempt to continue affecting democracy and the freedom of action of civil society organisations.
