HLPF side event "Towards an Enabling Digital Environment for Civil Society Everywhere" - 12/07/2021

About the event: This side event explored the important role that the effective implementation of SDG 16 & 17 can play in promoting & protecting civic space and an enabling digital environment for civil society. It brought together a range of interested stakeholders including governments, Tech for Good NGOs, academia, and civil society to explore a number of important issues related to the current process of digitalisation. Forus launched its New Advocacy Paper on an Enabling Digital Environment for CSOs at this side event : https://bit.ly/3r3eHV6 This event was led by Forus, TechSoup, Global Focus, CIVICUS and A4SD. Speakers included representatives from the Danish Government, the Finish Government, the European Commission, the Local Government of Taoyuan (Taiwan) and the OECD.
