CANGO is leaving no one behind, and you? Share your story!

Across regions such as Xinjiang, Henan, Chongqing, and Inner Mongolia, the China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO) is improving the lives of women from rural and ethnic minority communities through skills training and economic empowerment programs. Between 2004 and 2018, CANGO directly supported over 4,500 women through embroidery, sericulture, fruit and nut cultivation, domestic work, and food processing.

The initiative created women’s associations and mutual aid groups, enabling women not only to generate income but also to build collective power. Trainings were adapted to local economic contexts and cultural traditions—ensuring relevance, sustainability, and dignity.
