Ruth Lara Castillo

Ruth Lara Castillo is a journalist, broadcaster, teacher, and content strategist with more than two decades of experience in national and international media. Her work stands out for its critical perspective, deeply human communicational sensitivity, and exceptional ability to craft messages that inform, mobilize, and inspire trust. She holds an Associate Degree in Advertising from the Instituto Universitario de Nuevas Profesiones, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication from Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua, is a certified broadcaster from UCV, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing at Universidad de Carabobo. She has worked in media outlets such as DAT TV, NCtv, Televen, ONDA, EVTV, TVV Network, El Pitazo, Reporte 7, and Unión Radio, serving as reporter, host, producer, and content editor. Her coverage has focused on social interest issues, human rights, community, politics, and well-being, with special emphasis on investigative journalism—an area in which she has received multiple national awards and a distinction from the Inter American Press Association (IAPA). For 10 years, she served as a university professor at Universidad Arturo Michelena (UAM), teaching courses in News Journalism, Radio, and Television Journalism, training new generations of communicators with an ethical, technical, and committed approach. Her academic experience is complemented by strong professional involvement: she is currently the Secretary General of the National College of Journalists (Carabobo chapter) and Delegate of the National Union of Press Workers (SNTP), from where she promotes initiatives that defend freedom of expression and the dignity of journalistic practice.
