How CANGO is helping farmers adapt to the changing climate, one village at a time

CANGO is leaving no one behind, and you? Share your story!
Through its rural climate change adaptation project (2015–2017), CANGO helped over 1,400 farmers and herders in Shandong and Inner Mongolia adapt to environmental challenges. The initiative introduced water-saving irrigation, built biogas facilities and greenhouses, and promoted sustainable agricultural techniques.
Workshops on disaster preparedness, health, and sustainable living were paired with clean water infrastructure, composting, and community clean-up activities. Farmers were also supported to visit other regions and learn advanced methods, creating a ripple effect of resilience and innovation.
This work aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and with the principles of Leaving No One Behind including:
- SDG 2 – Zero Hunger: Sustainable agriculture and improved yields.
- SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation: Sanitation systems and safe drinking water.
- SDG 13 – Climate Action: Local adaptation and education.
- SDG 15 – Life on Land: Ecosystem restoration and sustainable land use.
- SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Multi-stakeholder implementation.
