Philippines
National NGO Platforms
Established in 1991, the Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE-NGO) is the country’s largest coalition of civil society organizations (CSOs) working for social development, with its 6 national networks and 6 regional networks representing more than 2,000 development NGOs, people’s organizations (POs) and cooperatives nationwide. CODE-NGO maximizes its scale and synergy to influence public policy, provide leadership in civil society and increase the effectiveness of social development work in the country. It focuses on policy advocacy and partnership building in the public arena, as well as on developing the capacity and accountability of its member networks and affiliated organizations. Through the years, CODE-NGO has been steadfast in rising to the challenges of the times and actively promoting its target advocacies through consortium efforts among its networks and collaboration with external partners both local and international. CODE-NGO does this through its three institutional programs of Membership Development, Advocacy, and Strategic Communications.
