PDA Focal Person/ Coordinator

Resume: I am an experienced project and program management professional with over ten years in the social development sector. I have played a pivotal role in national advocacy efforts, contributing to the passage of key legislative acts, such as the Punjab Free & Compulsory Education Act and KP Domestic Violence Act. I am currently a Team Lead at AwazCDS-Pakistan and also a coordinator at Pakistan Development Alliance, where I oversee programs focused on girls' education, child protection, gender-based violence, and strengthening civic spaces and promoting democracy efforts in my country. I am deeply committed to promoting an inclusive and equitable society, using my skills to ensure that marginalised voices are heard and that meaningful protections are established for vulnerable groups. I believe in amplifying civil society voices, recognizing that these voices are increasingly respected and have the power to drive real change. 

Motivation: I am motivated to join the Forus Leadership Development Programme because I see it as a powerful opportunity to enhance my skills and expand my impact in the human rights and social development sectors. Through this programme, I aim to deepen my expertise in advocacy, strategic planning, and organisational leadership, enabling me to drive more effective, community-centred initiatives for vulnerable groups. Additionally, the chance to connect with a global network of like-minded leaders will provide invaluable insights, innovative approaches, and collaborative opportunities that can strengthen my work in Pakistan. Being part of this programme aligns with my commitment to amplifying civil society voices and contributing to a more inclusive, just, and equitable society.
 
Fun Fact: Being a mother to my three-year-old son has opened a unique path of self-discovery and personal growth for me. This role challenges me to understand myself on a deeper level, teaching me patience, resilience, and empathy in ways I hadn’t imagined. It’s a journey that continually inspires me to improve, not only for his sake but also as an individual.
