Mexico

UnidOSC, Legal Projects and Pro Bono Network Director

Resume: Through the leadership of Appleseed Mexico's Pro Bono Mexico Network and as a member of UnidOSC, we work to strengthen, from a legal point of view, the projects and legal capacity of CSOs to face regulatory and legal challenges, especially in an environment where civic space is at risk.

Motivation: I am motivated to meet more women with the same objective: to build alliances, work collaboratively, create new projects, grow existing ones, but also to strengthen my leadership skills and advocacy capacity in the Civil Society Organisation (CSO) sector. I strongly believe that building strong networks is essential to ensure that CSOs not only comply with the regulations that apply to them, but also have a thorough understanding of the changes affecting their environment, enabling them to anticipate and react effectively.

The sector faces significant challenges due to a complex and changing regulatory environment, where attempts to close civic space are increasingly evident. It is critical, therefore, that CSOs, together with support networks, develop resilience and capacity to continue to raise awareness among decision-makers and adapt to any changes.

My vision of leadership in this context is about building partnerships to strengthen the sector. It is not only about guiding CSOs to achieve their goals, but also about equipping them with the knowledge and tools to act as agents of change in society. Therefore, I see the Cycle 5 Leadership Development Programme as an opportunity to continue to develop these skills and strategic approaches, allowing me to have even more impact in the sector.

Fun fact: Running used to be a big challenge for me, but after a year of sticking with it, it's grown into an acquired taste that I actually look forward to!
